FCC Bans Dahua, Hikvision, and more!

FCC Bans Dahua, Hikvision, and more!

In our last blog post we unpacked how, effective Feb 6th 2023, the FCC UNANIMOUSLY voted to ban all new product authorizations from Dahua, Hikvision, Huawei, Hytera and Hisilicon, which constitutes approximately 60-80% of the market share. This is comparable to the banning of all new Apple, Samsung, and Nokia products in their respective markets!

The FCC concluded that it has authority to revoke past equipment authorizations. This means the FCC can ban equipment that has already been authorized (and installed...)

If the FCC follows through on Commissioner Carr's desire to ban all Dahua & Hikvision products prior to February 6th. Every Business that uses these products will, potentially, have to unplug the devices or face fines of up to $10,000 per day, per unit!

Are you compliant? Find out now!

Is your unit secretly made by companies with Federal Bans?

Even if you got your unit at a big box retailer like Costco, BestBuy, Walmart, etc... Dahua & Hikvision have been sold into these channels branded as "Lorex" and other names. The brand name or part number do not indicate the true manufacturer of the product!

Many businesses and homes are unknowingly using these risky products, which are often sold under vague white-label brands, with a new logo, and random model numbers. It is incredibly common to be sold a Dahua or Hikvision unit by the name of something else. Thousands of other brands are also made by these companies. You can find "Dahua OEM" lists on google.

 Don't Risk Jail & Fines!

Does the government really take this stuff seriously?

Yes! Ask Aventura technology and their employees!

These white labeled Hikvision products fooled our nation's military and were installed in sensitive locations, including an aircraft carrier creating a national security nightmare! Our industry continued to sell these risky products despite the NDAA ban. Now the FCC has taken a comprehensive approach to end this problem once and for all.

Both Trump and Biden administrations, Republican and Democrat, have placed bans and restrictions on Dahua and Hikvision. This is a bi-partisan effort to clean up America's IOT and Security risks.

What can we sell?!?!
